Graycell Smith Obituary

Graycell Lucretia King Smith was born on December 24, 1941, in Live Oak, FL, to the late Howard and Lena Mae King.

Graycell made peace with God early in age and was a proud member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church.  She served in the gospel choir, Baptist Training Union and Director of the Youth Program.

She was member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Order of the Eastern Star and Grand Court Order of Calanthe.

Graycell Smith was educated in the Hillsborough County School System, graduating from Marshall High School in 1960.  She continued her education at Gibbs Junior College in St. Petersburg, FL and later graduated from Wheelock College in Boston, MA, receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education.

During this time in her life, she met and later married Jerry Smith, Jr., with the two producing and raising four children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Lena Mae King, and three sisters: Delores Gaddy, Shirley Kelly and Lillian Gordon.

The family appreciates all kind gestures during this time of bereavement.
