Brother David Jackson was born to the union of Clyde and Nina Jackson in Picnic, Florida, on December 27, 1934. His life journey included honorable service in the United States Air Force and an extensive career with the Federal Government, where he served faithfully until his retirement.
Brother Jackson received several accolades for his exemplary work ethic, a trait that continued to shine well into his retirement.
On September 20, 1991, Brother Jackson was united in holy matrimony with the love of his life, Martha Lillian Jackson. Their marriage was a true testament to God’s grace, and they enjoyed building a beautiful life together until Martha’s passing in March of 2010.
Brother Jackson was a devoted member of Greater St. Luke M.B. Church in Plant City, Florida. He served his beloved church in many capacities, including on the Trustee Board, Pastor’s Aide Committee, and the Culinary Team. In addition to his church service, Brother Jackson volunteered at several local food pantries, joyfully delivering food to those in need. He was a faithful servant and a willing vessel wherever he was needed.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Clyde Jackson, Ernest Jackson, and James Jackson; and five sisters: Minnie Ruth Jackson, Sarah Jackson, Clydell Jackson, Maria Jones, and Willa Pendelton.
Beautiful memories remain in the hearts of his loving and devoted nieces Rebecca Andrews and Marcia Jackson, and his devoted nephew Mike Andrews. He is also lovingly remembered by nieces: Hazel Jackson, Ernestine Spradley, Darlene Jackson, Ghaliyah Roberts-Palmer, Gloria Faye Jackson, Gwendolyn Jackson, and Clydell Jackson; nephews: Leon Jackson and Eric Felder Sr.; as well as a host of special nieces and nephews who held a cherished place in his heart. Also mourning his loss are his loving friends who became family, Ron and Rena Clark, and his beloved Greater St. Luke Family.
