Cecil Alfonso Baker was born on, June 30, 1941, in Blountstown, Florida. He was employed by the Polk County Opportunities.
Cecil dedicated his life to Christ, and the Lord bless him with the love of his life, Sylvia Wright Baker on October 27, 2012. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Ministries in Plant City, Florida. They journeyed together spreading the gospel. He was Sylvia's cheerleader in the ministry. They also took time to fish, which was one of his passions. He had a love for basketball, the Warriors.
Not only did they sing together, and to each other, Cecil was a member of a singing group, the Wings of Faith, and was the assistant manager of the Echoes of Joy.
He received his heavenly wings on February 25, 2024. Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Heather Jefferson and twin brother, Carl Baker.
He leaves to cherish his life a devoted wife, Sylvia Wright Baker; 9 daughters, Jacqueline Jackson, Changer Sheffield, Caroline McFarlin, Vivian Baker, Alicia Baker, Jaleesa Showers (Dadre), April Washington, Lela Thompson and Janie Williams; 4 sons, Michael Jefferson, Cecil Baker, Jr., Christopher Baker and Ken Godwin (Felicia); a host of grands and great grands; one sister, Harriett Taylor of Macon, GA; 3 brother in laws, Clay Wright, Van Wright and Sylvester Wright; 1 sister in law, Doll Kemps; and a host of sorrowing friends.
The family appreciates all kind gestures during this time of bereavement.
